Our objective

To personally deliver a 4x4 vehicle to a Mongolian children's charity by participating in The Mongolia Charity Rally. Our expedition starts in London on July 5th 2008, driving via the Caucasus and Central Asia, arriving in Ulaan Bataar five weeks and eight thousand miles later. The Children's Development and Protection Foundation of Mongolia is accepting vehicles and we are willing to fundraise to purchase one and hand-deliver it to the charity.

Our corporate sponsor have enabled us to buy a great vehicle. We are now fundraising for diesel to get us to Mongolia. Each team member will contribute over £1000 (over AUS$2000) to the project to cover living expenses and flight home.

Our route takes us through eighteen countries via ex-Soviet Eastern Europe, through Istanbul into Asia, through the Caucasus region, across the Caspian Sea, into the mountainous and ancient Silk Road region of Central Asia and finally onto the vast plains of Mongolia. The route east of Turkey is largely unknown to Western people and we look forward to exploring the high mountains of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan along the Pamir Highway, the ancient city of Samarkand in Uzbekistan and the vast plains of the Mongolia steppes. read more
